Dragon Quest
Fairy tales come to life as Circo Rum Ba Ba’s Goblin Queen escorts her fire breathing dragon from the mythical world of Goble to the heart of Lloyd Park.
Help keep the dragon eggs warm, but watch out for the naughty dragon!
Elemental by the Street Arts Academy
Follow this exciting carnival procession based on the elements until it explodes into a fusion of dance, drama, percussion and rap. Devised and performed by young people from eight South London Boroughs, including students from Croydon’s Shirley High School, Elemental is presented by the South London Arts Partnership and Emergency Exit Arts.
Groundwork
This high energy performance is based on the imagery of territorial displays within the animal kingdom. Using a fusion of street dance, hip-hop and circus, Groundwork is brought to you by Croydon College and Upswing Aerial.
Kabaddi
Look out for demonstrations of this fast-moving Asian sport where the teams take turns sending a "raider" across to the opposite team's half. The goal is to tag or wrestle members of the opposite team before returning to the home half.
STOP PRESS: A real scoop for Croydon… The British and Italian National Kabaddi teams will compete for a trophy at the Croydon Mela.
Croydon ColourDome
Come inside the dream world of ColourDome for a multi-sensory
experience of colour, light and sound. Playing the Wind Sky Sculpture can be seen alongside the ColourDome. Soaring tubes of fabric "play" in the wind - twisting and interweaving to link colours in the sky.
Playing the Wind was created by Colourscape artist Peter Jones.
