Digital FunfairDigital Funfair
Combining digital technology, dance, music and film, this is digital fun for everyone. Play on the Beat Jigsaw, become a superstar DJ or use the Pacbike to discover a 3D world of arcade games. The Video Karaoke System lets you become part of a movie, then knock the block off the world’s most irritating celebrities at the Virtual Coconut Shy.
Croydon Schools’ Festival FlagsCroydon Schools’ Festival Flags
Look up and see the brightly coloured silk flags flying in the breeze. Ten of these wonderful flags have been designed by Croydon school children on the themes of Africa, the Caribbean and Asia, and interpreted by internationally renowned flag artist, Shona Watt.
This project has been funded by the Reaching Out Project.
 
Saturday 14 July • African Caribbean Family Festival
Come and decorate traditional shakere and rainstick instruments with artist Annette Bugansky. While your creations dry join Ilse Mikula at our giant mural – and work together to create a bold and beautiful landscape bringing the scenery and animals of Africa to Croydon. Kids' Area

Sunday 15 July • Croydon Mela
Get creative and get messy in the Mela Kids’ Area. You can paint pictures, make flowers and artist Harjeet Kaur will show you how to use seeds and spices to make your own Rangoli art to take home. Then join Jaina Kuntawala at our dancing lady – learn about Henna painting on paper hands and help us complete her beautiful skirt.

Patrolling the shores of the Festival will be our very own beach patrol. These upstanding giants of the waves need help finding out where
the surf’s up. But watch out, they might decide you need rescuing!

Tony Charles Steel Band
Join the carnival with Tony Charles and his steel band as they spread the sunshine around the site with their Caribbean tunes played on the steel drums.

The Carnival of Curiosities!
Watch this weird and wonderful human circus presented by Emergency Exit Arts with students from Shirley High School and the Street Arts Academy. There will be walk-about performances, created by young people from six south London boroughs that will amaze and delight you.

Howzat! Join our stilt walking cricketers as they take in all the action
of the Festival, from the boundaries to the stages. But give them a good innings; these aren’t your normal, cucumber sandwich eating
men in white!

Dhol Academy
As well as appearing on the main stage, listen out for these wildly energetic dhol drummers spreading their catchy rhythms around site.
